Made properly
Connect names, places and shared jokes in a crossword print. Choose a family layout, a word cross, or a numbered puzzle with your own clues. Check the words and layout in the preview before adding it to your basket.
- A real crossword, not letters that happen to touch. Every form is laid by a proper crossword engine: words only meet where they share a letter, no two run side by side, and the puzzle forms are numbered the way a newspaper's is, with your clues set beneath in Across and Down. Want a word search instead? That is its own print, made the same careful way.
- Your words, with a printed tile effect. The Family: your surname down the middle and every name crossing it. A word cross, tight as a block. A puzzle to solve, squares empty and clues beneath, answers upside down at the foot if you like. The solved puzzle, filled in. Choose ruled squares, printed wood or stone effects, colour blocks, or newspaper-style black squares. These are images on a print, not separate physical tiles.
- Two to fourteen words, in a minute. Type the word in the middle, then the names, places and in-jokes — and a clue for each if you are making a puzzle. The preview redraws as you type, and you approve the exact sheet before anything is printed.

Questions
What if my words don't fit together?
A crossword needs shared letters. If a word has none in common with the others, the preview says which one; change it, or try our word search print, which takes any words at all. Spaces, hyphens and accents are fine — the squares carry letters only.
Do I have to write clues?
Only for the two puzzle forms, and even then a word without a clue is given its first letter as the clue on a blank puzzle, or simply named on a solved one. On the Family and Word cross forms a clue becomes the line under each word in the list beneath the grid — or leave it blank.
Can they actually solve it?
Yes. The puzzle to solve is printed with empty squares and numbered clues; switch on the answers and they print small and upside down at the foot, the way a puzzle book does it. Framed, it takes a pen through the glass badly, so most people frame it after.
