Ours is set by a typesetter that measures every line — the name sized to fit, the deed wrapped and set in the accent, the sentence typeset properly — with a seal drawn for the occasion, real signature lines, an inked stamp, and the range's lettering, papers and backgrounds. When the words run long, the sheet tightens rather than cuts.

Is it meant to be funny?
It is meant to be true. The sheet takes what you write with complete seriousness — a first swim at forty-three, a wardrobe with no leftover screws, forty-one years of wet Wednesdays — and sets it the way a real certificate is set. That is where the joke lives, if there is one.
Who signs it?
