Tintagel is known for the ruined castle linked to the legend of King Arthur. Here it is set as a crossword: a place-name heading, a grid, and numbered across and down clues. Richard, Earl of Cornwall, exchanged three manors for Tintagel land in May 1233. The Great Ditch at Tintagel dates from the 5th to 7th centuries and defended the headland.
