Calculated for your chosen date, local time and place: the Moon's phase, position and orientation are shown in a clear lunar design. Different nights produce different prints. Printed to order.

  • A calculated Moon. We calculate the Moon's phase and orientation for your date, local time and chosen place. The artwork shows its lit side at that moment, including the different view from the southern hemisphere. Every print is calculated for your place, not drawn from a stock disc.
  • Say as much, or as little, as you like. Choose how much the print tells: nothing but the Moon; its phase; how much of it was lit; its age and its distance that night; where it was calculated to sit over you; or, at the top, the seas and craters named across its lit side like an old lunar chart.
  • Five ways to draw it, five ways to lay it out. A Moon calculated for a real night, a glow, stars calculated around it for that night, a soft pale Moon, or an engraving in ink on cream. Questions

What time should I put?
Use the local time for the place. We calculate the moment from that place's time-zone rules. If you don't know it, leave it: the Moon's phase barely changes in an evening, and the print shows the date and local time used.
What if the Moon wasn't up at that time?
The print keeps the chosen hour's calculated phase. If the Moon is below the horizon, its orientation is drawn at its highest point that night, and the page tells you when that is.
Does it work for Australia and the south?
Yes. The print calculates the Moon's orientation for the place you choose, including the different view from the southern hemisphere.
