Christmas gifts for dog owners, with their own dog on them

A personalised Christmas card with an engraved cocker spaniel inside a painted holly wreath, the name Biscuit and Merry Christmas

Dog owners are easy to buy for in one way: they already have a favourite subject. Everything on this page puts their own dog on it, engraved from a photo you upload or matched to the nearest of forty-two breeds and pets, and you see the result before you order.

Their dog, engraved

The pet portrait print is a bank-note style engraving of the dog's head and shoulders, large on the sheet, with the name beneath and an optional small line: a nickname, "Good boy", or a few words of your own. Upload a clear photo of the dog's face, well lit and looking towards the camera, and it is engraved in about twenty seconds, so the print shows their markings rather than a generic breed. We keep only the engraving, never the photo; Photos and your privacy explains how that works.

On a mug, a tote or a T-shirt

The same portrait is available on an 11 oz white ceramic mug, a natural tote bag and a T-shirt in white or natural, all ordered from the pet portrait page. A mug gets used every morning; a tote can go on the walk.

Cards from the dog

For the household that signs its Christmas cards from the dog as well, the Christmas pet cards put the same engraving in a round window inside a painted holly wreath, with the name and a line such as "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Howlidays". A pack is ten identical folded cards with envelopes, blank inside for your own message. They can be sent to the UK, Australia and New Zealand, but not yet to the US or Canada. Leave time to write and post them after they arrive.

Something lighter: the official record

The pet records print treats the dog as a person of standing. Choose a certificate of adoption for the day they came home, an official record of what they are also known as, what they love and their known offences, or an award for outstanding service in whatever post they hold. It uses an engraved portrait from our own library of breeds, a household seal with a paw at its centre, and an inked stamp.

More than one dog, or no dog

  • The breed list covers cats, rabbits and horses too.
  • For a rescue, a certificate of adoption can mark the day they came home; see our gotcha day gift page.
  • For two dogs, make the first design, keep the link, and build the second from it so the pair match.
  • For a dog lover without a dog of their own, our dog breed designs put particular breeds on T-shirts, prints and mugs.

All of it is made to order in the UK after you approve the artwork; check the delivery estimate on each product page before relying on it for Christmas. If the present is for someone whose dog has died, our dog memorial gift page is a gentler place to start.
