Photos and your privacy

Some designs can draw a picture from your own photo: a pet portrait, your house on the map print, a retiree or a couple, or a picture on the timeline. This is what happens to that photo.

  • Your browser makes a small copy of the photo, about 768 pixels across. Only that copy leaves your device.
  • We send the copy to OpenAI, the company whose AI makes the drawing. OpenAI checks that the photo is safe and suitable, then draws the picture.
  • OpenAI does not use it to train its AI. Under OpenAI's standard terms for its API, it may keep the request for up to 30 days to check for misuse, and then deletes it. OpenAI is based in the United States.
  • We never keep your photo. We keep only the finished drawing, with your saved design, so that we can print it and you can order it again.
  • "Show it in a room" never sends your design or a photo of you. OpenAI draws an empty room around a blank panel; we then place your exact design into that panel ourselves. We keep the finished room picture with your saved design.
  • Words you type into some features, such as Everyone Signs messages, crossword clues or a timeline picture described in words, are also checked by OpenAI in the same way. Everyone Signs boards close after 30 days and are then deleted.
  • The front-page print is different: your photo is printed as it is, so we keep it. We keep a copy up to 2,400 pixels across, with its hidden details (such as the place it was taken) removed. It is not sent to OpenAI.
  • The soundwave print reads your recording on your own device. The recording is never uploaded. We keep only the shape of the wave.
  • What you type into Find a gift is kept for 90 days, only to check and improve our suggestions and designs, then deleted. We never use it for marketing and never keep it longer.

To have a drawing, a kept photo or a saved design deleted, email info@antirecreation.co.uk with the link to your design or your order number. We delete it within 30 days, unless we still need it to make or reprint an order you have placed; then we delete it once that order is complete.
